We can actually think of two types of cases while talking about a workplace and the motivation among people. We mainly get to see two different types of people. The first type falls under the category of high motivation. We get to see a lot a few people in every workplace who always remain super motivated in spite of the daily grind. The second type is the more commonly seen demotivated group of employees.
Most of the corporate motivational speakers from India believe that motivation is the key to be active and satisfied. The sad thing is that most of us do not have that inherent quality of staying motivated at all times and beat the challenges coming our way. Many people struggle to find motivation in the workplace where they are assigned to do a number of tasks. So what do we do about it? How can we maximize our motivation to stay happy and gather that strength to pull off any task?
If you watch inspiring videos a lot, then you are likely to find yourself in a much better position than most of us. However, no external source of motivation seems to work at times and what you need to do is find an internal source which would never leave you lost and unmotivated. Here are a few tips that could work for you and others around you as well.
Step in with a new objective each day
Always know that no job is perfect. No matter what your dream job is, you will always find some disappointing factors associated with it. Just think of the several people that continue with a single job for a very long time. How do they do it? The answer is very simple. They focus on the good rather than dwelling in the bad. Make every day count and when you walk into your office each morning, think of the good things about working in your workplace or think of the people who are waiting for an interview call from your office. There should be some good things about each workplace. You just need to figure those out. It is challenging and inspirational at the same time to do a job which is sought by many unemployed people.

You need to do your tasks differently
Whatever your work is, if you want to complete the bulk of it within a single day or a short time, you might get frustrated and stress might take its toll. So what should be your approach? The way is simple; break down your tasks into segments. For example, if you have to write a 50 pages report on something, do not think of the overwhelming pressure. Break down your task into smaller parts, say 10 pages a day. That way you are going to pull off any task without getting affected by the overwhelming pressure. You must have heard the adage used in many motivational books for students, ‘slow but steady wins the race'. That is exactly how you are supposed to approach every task.
Sometimes exploring your limits is needed
Many a time, we are underestimated and consequently underutilized which decreases the level of motivation within us. This is completely detrimental for our productivity and confidence. While being underutilized, we gradually forget our own potential and start to believe in the limited responsibility that we are entrusted with. According to the top 5 motivational speakers in India, every person should take up more responsibilities than what they usually do. Therefore, moving out of your comfort zone and trying to get bigger assignments can significantly increase your motivation and willingness to pull off a difficult task. Think of a child who is given a tough task and how he/she tries to complete that task with maximum effort. Why does the child do that? It is because the child goes through a thought process and ends up thinking that if he/she can do the work, he/she would be praised. So the child moves out of the comfort zone. That is exactly what you are required to do when you feel demotivated. Take up a challenging task and commit to completing it and surprising everyone. You will feel highly motivated for sure.
Work with tentative targets
When you are working in a team and everyone is connected with invisible chains, it is good for you to set provisional deadlines so that you do not bother anyone else. Teamwork means somebody is always dependant on your work and you cannot afford to delay as it might affect others' productivity. Therefore, if you set deadlines for your own part of the task, you are going to finish it within the deadline and make sure that the work is going smoothly. The feeling of being a part of a team that is functioning smoothly can motivate you and your teammates significantly. Work with focus and coordinate with the team while maintaining your own deadlines and see the difference.
Treat yourself good
Understand that you need appreciation and reward after every tedious task you pull off. If someone is praising you, that is OK but rewarding yourself with something you love is an indispensable idea. Think of a particular thing as a gift that you would love after a tiresome week at work. Work hard through the week and gift yourself a lovely gift that you have been eyeing for a while. You might think that gifting your own is not a good idea, but the idea is to buy something for your own and consider it a gift to yourself. Suppose you need a new tie and you have to buy it anyway. Why not buy it with a purpose in mind and gift it to yourself and the end of a tiresome week.
Accept criticism sportingly
Criticism is such a thing that might sound bitter in the beginning but is utterly beneficial for your growth and motivation. If you are open to criticism, you are already halfway there towards your success. If someone is criticizing you, they are making you aware of your faults and it is easier for you to fix your faults when someone has already identified them for you. Believe it or not, it is extremely difficult to see fault in ourselves and we are humans, we always see the good in us and skip the bad part. Therefore, if someone is pointing out our faults, it is easy for us to get better and accept the challenge for a better result tomorrow. Moreover, you can take the criticism as a challenge and work on your faults to deliver a much better result the next time. Once you take the criticism seriously and deliver better performance, you will feel the difference in motivation level. Many motivational speakers from India speak of criticism as a learning opportunity and you should not confuse it with an insult. If someone is criticizing you, they are not insulting you but showing you the faults where you need to work.
How can your work influence others?
More often than not, feeling motivated is easy. What you have to do is just make a list of people who will be benefited by your work. This is just a thought process which we do not go through every day. Regardless of whatever we do at our workplaces, we undoubtedly help or benefit some people with that work and we never think twice as we consider that to be our job and we have to do it. If we look at things a little differently and start thinking a little deeper, we would find that the work we do benefit a lot of people. That should be a good source of motivation. Say you are going through an important file and you are not motivated to do that. Start thinking of that person who will get benefited if you check the file. Within a few minutes, you would feel good and have a little boost in energy to pull off that task.
Mix with like minded people
There will always be people at work who are not willing to do something on their own and on top of that, they are the kind of people that love to demotivate others. Keep away from these people. They are like crabs; they do not grow themselves and do not let you grow either. While you are relaxing a bit or having a little break, indulge in conversations with motivated and positive people. They will tell you one or two words that might trigger your potential and revive your motivation. While on the other hand, demotivated and inefficient colleagues will always have some excuse for their faults and the work as a catalyst while demotivating others. Therefore, always have a smile and talk with positive people in order to recharge your motivation every now and then.
Conclusion - There are a lot of challenges that you would face in your workplace and the worths thing is lack of motivation. Motivation is imperative if you are setting goals and want to reach them. That is why you need to figure out ways to stay motivated at work at all times. Finding motivation might be difficult at times and that is when you need to keep yourself calm and go through the aforementioned tips. If you follow the tips, you are likely to stay motivated in your workplace no matter how bad the situation is.
